The temptation generation?

imageCan you wait to eat your marshmallow?

Way back when, I recall several discussions about “instant gratification” impulses and the need to foster “delayed gratification” among us. Now along comes an opinion piece, “Is Facebook creating a temptation generation?,” that appears to update these discussions, with many of the same concerns put forth

  • Who needs real friends anymore?
  • Do you really care about what Sadie had for breakfast?
  • Are you spending your time wisely?

It seems we are part of a grand social-networking experiment, just when many of us have finally come to terms with how to use email.
