‘Digital curtain’ now in place at Town Hall

Thanks mostly to the ceaseless efforts of HERTHA board member Catherine Allegrina, our historic stage curtain has now been replaced by a digitized printed copy.
On Thursday, Britten Banners workers Steve Harvey and Mark Adams took down the old curtain, removed it from the wooden sandwich header, removed all the staples from the curtain and rolled it up for storage.  They then attached the digital version to the header and installed it on the stage.
Our original curtain has been sealed in a cardboard box and stored at the top row of seats in the balcony, awaiting restoration.
Thanks to Catherine, Britten Banners and all the HERTHA members who helped make this project possible. And thanks to Tom Vranich for the exceptional photos and the source information about the installation.
