Members of the Parks & Recreation Commission and interested citizens met yesterday at the pavilion in Rotary Park to discuss how to improve usage of the park. Here are some of the items that were discussed.
- Create a boardwalk from River Street to the park, passing under the U.S. 31 bridge, that is similar to what is in place at the north side of the bridge.
- Build a floating dock out from the pavilion, with ramp access, to allow for kayak launching and possibly swimming.
- Improve rest room availability.
- Add a trackless train ride and a pole barn with a diorama of the iron works.
