Tonight the Village Planning Commission held a public hearing on the application of the Blarney Castle Oil Company to build a 5,000 sq. ft. EZ Mart in Elk Rapids at the corner of First Street and U.S. 31.
The drawing of the proposed building does in fact resemble the picture at right.
After a 2 1/2 hour hearing, the Planning Commission decided to postpone a decision pending the receipt of more information about traffic and pedestrian safety in the area.
- Accident reports will be requested from the State Police.
- Local police data will be sought.
- MDOT will be contacted for more info.
You can search for EZ Mart to find earlier postings. Even more info is available at Government Center. The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for March 22.
