I asked Elk Rapids Schools Superintendent to comment on my recent ‘digital education’ posting. Here is his reply.
We do have one on one computing at CMS [Cherryland Middle School]. However, the students do not take the computers home. We would have the capability to make it happen in grades 4-12 if we were to get support through a technology bond. Additional technology access for students like this is great. The concern would be with additional technology hardware comes more technology support needs. We currently have about 1,000 computers in Elk Rapids Schools and are very proud of what we offer our staff and students. (Source: email from Steve Prissel)
Thanks, Superintendent Prissel, for your enlightening comment.
