The box office at the historic Township Hall, affectionately called The HERTH, is now open from 10 a.m. to Noon, Tuesday through Thursday. Stop by to find out more about HERTHA, buy tickets or get a tour of the hall itself.
Note that The HERTH is very much a work in progress, so you won’t likely find a pristine environment that is remarkably neat and tidy. HERTHA is operating, managing and rehabilitating a venerable and re-emerging cultural, performance and meeting center in Elk Rapids, which is already vibrantly alive with activity. Here’s just a sample of recent past, present and future goings on:
- Rehearsals by our own Elk Rapids Players are underway for an end-of-April, early May performance of Moon Over Broadway.
- Women/Infants/Children (WIC), a county social-service agency, just met to offer free pre- and post-natal services to young women in the area.
- The Elk Rapids Area Historical Society and the Rotary Club had meetings here.
And there’s more to come with play performances, parties, receptions and concerts.
